Il Mulino
Our yarn is spun in Biella, in Piedmont, where wool has been washed in the local soft water for centuries. The knitting is done in Umbria on 12-gauge machines, fully fashioned, so each panel is knitted to shape rather than cut from a length of cloth.
The shoes are made in Le Marche, on the Adriatic side, by a family workshop that has been lasting and sewing for three generations.
We buy from the same spinners the large houses use. We simply buy less, and we cut nothing until it is ordered.
